Our Passion

After ten years of research at Cambridge University in the new field of computer-assisted manufacturing, Dr. Arthur Flutter in 1977 founded NC Graphics Ltd. in Cambridge, in order to develop CAD/CAM software independently. Initial products were software for the shoe-making industry, for the design and fabrication of ship hulls, for manufacturing turbine blades, and for automobile racing. The link between software development and experience from many projects in 1987 resulted in ToolMaker, refined CAD/CAM software for tool-and-die-making. The first version of the NCG CAM 3-D milling software was presented to the public in 1997.
In 1995, Dr. Arthur Flutter, Helmut Altheimer, and Dieter Trinkner founded NC Graphics in Germany to provide direct support for the NC Graphics products in German-speaking countries.

In 2007, Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) acquired NC Graphics Ltd. in Cambridge, and pushed the development of five-axis machining. In order to ensure the continued development of NCG CAM software in the long term, the firm of NCGCAM Solutions Ltd. was founded in Cambridge in June 2009, on the initiative of NC Graphics Germany. NCG CAM Solutions Ltd. has acquired the full right to utilization of the source code from PTC, and has been responsible for the further development and marketing of NCG CAM software since then. Dieter Trinkner is one of the managing directors of the new firm.
